Salted candy
12:50 Like salted candy,
A strong, acquired taste.
Bursting on your tastebuds, exploding in flavour.
Etching fiery, hot new sensations in your mind
Unfanthomably constant in appetite, almost sinful in decadence
Like molten chocolate, gloriously sweet, quickly turning overbearingly intense
Love, wonderful in first sight, first touch, the first bite,
but sickly excessive after it is served to you whole on a dessert plate.
Was that what I was to you?
How does the honey on your lips turn sour overnight?
How did the shadows manage to creep out in such numbers, so rapidly eclipsing everything that was so dazzlingly bright?
Questions.
Unknown, unanswered.
Self-Blame. Regret. Always looping, binding. Every waking, resting moment.
This wasn't what you said was love. This is forgetting everything you showed me you were.
You aren't, you couldn't be. And am I a damn fool for believing and trusting again.
